Today, when we take our dog for a walk in the city, we blend into the crowd and hardly draw any attention. However, when we walked with the GO-2 robot dog, a crowd of onlookers surrounded us. There was even a minor traffic accident because someone in a car wanted to record the robot dog on a leash with their phone.
The GO-2 can perform many tricks, often turning viewers into fans. With this in mind, we can rightfully ask: what will the human-dog relationship be like 20 years from now? As dog owners, we hope that robots won’t develop an appearance that deceptively resembles a living dog—or even a human.
