Prestigious dog gear brand Julius-K9 has won the most recent „ Pet Industry Users’ Favourite Brands” award in China.
Selling its products in over 80 countries, Julius-K9’s Hungarian made products have been on the Chinese market for eight years now. According to various surveys, there are over 73,5 million dog- and cat owners in the country’s cities, each spending an average of 5016 RMB (approximately 750 USD) on their pets in 2018. This marks a 15% increase compared to the previous year. In 2018, the Chinese pet market was worth more than 170,8 billion RMB (24,9 million USD), with a 27% annual growth, according to the White Paper on China’s Pet Industry’s data.
In this dynamically growing industry, Julius-K9 has been able maintain its position amongst Chinese pet owners’ favourite manufacturers for three years in a row, winning the same award in both 2016 and 2017.

The most recent awards were held on the 1st of October 2019 in the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel (北京富力万丽酒店), co-organised by Dog Network (狗民网) and LingdangChongwu (铃铛宠物). The official name of the event is “The Awards Ceremony of Pet Industry Users’ Favourite Brands of 2018.”
Julius-K9 won the Pet Industry Users’ Favourite Brands award within the so-called “Leads” category. In the Chinese language, this terminology means far more than “leashes”: it includes every other item connected with dog walking. It is not hard to guess that the most popular item on the list was JULIUS-K9’s dog harness. It’s not the first time that this iconic design has received international recognition.
