Last time, in this summer heat, I surprised the retired Bandi with a splash. Last year he was noticeably more careful in the water, so this year I got him a Multifunctional IDC dog vest, which helps him stay on the surface. I couldn’t wait to try it out to see how he’d react.
As a true retriever, Bandi has loved swimming since he was a puppy. When we got out of the car, he immediately smelled the water. It was as if my dog with sore legs and with difficulty moving had been replaced or instantly rejuvenated. I could hardly hold him back, he pulled me towards the water so that he could finally swim.
I put the vest on him on the beach and let him go. What happiness! Grinning, he ran into the water. He avoided the deep parts, but enthusiastically waded up and down in chest-deep water. When I took the Multidummy out of my bag, he immediately started impatiently barking at me to throw it for him. I just threw it in a little way so that he didn’t have to swim so far, and he immediately went after it. He happily swam out with it, then dived into the water with the toy in his mouth in the shallow water. He didn’t want to give it back. 🙂 It was a perfect morning.
