Blue hair, blue fur – that’s how the first IDC® campaign stirred up emotions

The JULIUS-K9® IDC® Powerharnesses are modernized versions of the K9 harnesses. True urban dog harnesses.
In 2009, Gyula “Julius” Sebő developed the new model in a matter of weeks because copies of the older dog harness had flooded the market. Time was of the essence. While the legal battle was ongoing, development and production were underway. The only thing that was missing, was the first face of the campaign.

The guy in the picture came to the HQ area as a visitor, and Julius happened to see him. He looked at the guest, then at his dog, and asked:

– Would you be willing to dye your hair blue for a photo shoot?
– Blue? Why not.
– And your dog’s fur?
– If it can be washed out.
– Sure, don’t worry. But his image will forever go down in the history of dog harnesses, if you don’t mind.
– Sounds good. Let’s do it!

The picture was taken and in 2009 it stirred up a lot of dust. It definitely stirred up some controversy, but we had zero regrets.
