Our company’s novelty, the IDC®Longwalk dog harness, was awarded a prestigious innovation award. Following a thorough examination of numerous aspects, the six-member jury of the German Innovation Award selected our product as the Winner in the Travel, Sports & Outdoor goods category.
During the design process of the IDC®Longwalk, the goal of Gyula “Julius” Sebő, the inventor of the product, was to create a harness that unobtrusively follows the dog’s movements, relieves both the dog’s joints and the hand holding the leash. This is how the IDC®Longwalk came into being, the ideal leisure dog harness for longer trips. The special feature of this Y-harness is that its three points are active and elastic in design, so it responds to every movement of the dog. With the Duo-Flex® motion and vibration tracking system, both the dog and its owner feel a dampened force when the leash is taught. And after being released from the leash, the dog’s movement is as free as if it were not even wearing a harness.
The aim of the German Innovation Award is to highlight products and innovative solutions that are both user-friendly and stand out in their field. In 2021, 680 applications were received for the award in more than 20 categories. The jury is composed of independent, interdisciplinary experts from the areas of industry, science and finance. Aspects such as level of innovation, user benefits and efficiency were taken into account during the evaluation. They also take into account social, ecological and economic sustainability as well as the use of energy and resources. Employment potential, durability, marketability, technical quality and function also play a crucial role in the evaluation process.
The joint-friendly IDC®Longwalk dog harness is one of the most successful developments of our company, which in addition to being a German Innovation Award Winner, received the Red Dot Design Award in 2019, the German Design Award in 2020 as well as receiving special recognition from the Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize in the same year.
