Dear Diary! As an almost one-year-old noble dog, I have a lot to tell. The first and most important thing: I am still learning what life is like with a family. My four-legged companion, Berci the cat, that big-whiskered, purring fellow, is a true accomplice. There are things in which he’s a great companion, such as when it comes to relaxing on the sofa. But I get the feeling he doesn’t know what true excitement is!
When my owner grabs my Longwalk harness, I already know that we are going for a long walk. And not just anywhere! The Longwalk harness always means getting out of the city and going for a hike in the nearby forest. This is a really special place, where you can discover the silhouette of cute squirrels at the base of huge trees. Only their silhouettes, because squirrels are even faster than Berci the cat! Much to my chagrin, Mum can easily hold me back in my Longwalk harness and stop me from sprinting after squirrels or any other forest animals. The end is always the same. We walk along the forest path, by Mum’s side, discovering unknown scents on a leash, but not chasing the squirrels. Just like a well taught shelter dog should do. When I get home, and stretch out on the sofa next to Berci, I always dream of chasing squirrels!
